4 Early Warning Signs Your Brainstem is NOT Happy
According to a recent article published by The National Institute on Drug Abuse, the United States makes up less than 25% of the world’s total population, yet we consume more than 75% of the world’s medications. Let that sink in for just a second.

Now, I don’t share that statistic claiming that drugs are bad, and not taking drugs is good. I’m not THAT guy. In fact, there is a time, and a place for everything, especially medical intervention! But, lesser invasive, more conservative methods of treatment have their place as well. I share this statistic to illustrate that WE as a society are WAY to quick to jump to medications to “quickly fix” a lot of the most common health problems; we as Americans face on a day to day basis. If you were to ask most people if they enjoy taking drugs, of course, the answer is gonna be no. Nobody wants to be on a drug the rest of their life; but, most also don’t know there is another option, either. Most people know it is just masking the symptom, or problem, and not fixing it; so the real question is, “what is the root cause of some of the more common conditions we traditionally take medicine for?” The answer is the brainstem; and these are four early signs that your brainstem is not happy, malfunctioning, and needs to be addressed by something other than a medication FIRST to alleviate some of the more common medical conditions:

  1. Insomnia, and other sleep disturbances –
It has been widely accepted now for some time by researchers that the brainstem is highly involved in the regulation of the sleep-wake cycle, and circadian rhythm. If you are having trouble falling asleep, staying asleep, or even waking up with restful sleep, this could be an early warning sign that your brainstem’s function is not 100%.
  2. Blood Pressure Abnormalities (High or Low) –
The control centers that regulate short term regulation of blood pressure are located in the brainstem. If you are experiencing bouts of high blood pressure, or you have been told you have high (or low) blood pressure; it may not be strictly because you are overweight, and it definitely is not because you are deficient in beta blocking agents. It could be that your brainstem has pressure, and is not doing what it is designed to properly.
  3. Digestive System Problems –
These can include, but is not limited too, constant diarrhea, constipation, GERD/acid reflux, Chron’s Disease, IBS, nausea, and others can indicate that your brainstem is not regulating your digestive system properly. The same nerve (Vagus) originates in the brainstem and controls both the function of the heart, and the digestive system. If your digestive system is not getting proper information from the brainstem, and not proper information to the brainstem; problems can start to occur.
  4. Sexual Dysfunction or Irregularity –
The two sides of the autonomic nervous system (parasympathetic/sympathetic) have direct control on sexual functions in the body. Drugs, like Viagra, and others, directly act on these two systems and stimulate, and cause things to happen that should happen normally. The control centers for these two sides of the nervous system are located, you guessed it, in the brainstem. If you begin to have sexual irregularity or dysfunction, it is an early indication of brainstem abnormality, and the root cause is still present, even after drugs are administered, which is why often times people who take these drugs spend A BUNCH of money on them, and end up taking them forever.

These are conditions we see everyday at the Specific Chiropractic Centers across the world, and we tend to get great results with. When the upper two bones of the neck misalign, and cause the brainstem to become unhappy, and not do its job properly; these warning signs pop-up telling us there is a problem. If you have some of these warning signs, and want to see if the root cause of your problem is originating in the brainstem, we can, and would LOVE to help you out!
